Vanquish is a pretty plain card. For the cost of 4 resources you can destroy a target ally card. Vanquish is the weapon of choice to remove late game threats like Lady Jaina Proudmoore, Lord Grayson Shadowbreaker, and King Magni Bronzebeard.

Most decks I have seen have a Vanquish or two either in the main deck or side deck.

As more really powerful allies are released, including a Vanquish will become more and more common in more and more decks.
